Short History of Aceh Province
According to historical records, Aceh is the first point of arrival of Islam in Indonesia and as the onset of the first Islamic kingdom in Indonesia, namely Peureulak and Pasai. Kingdoms built by Sultan Ali Mughayatsyah with its capital in Bandar Aceh Darussalam is slowly expanding its area covering a large part of East and West coasts of Sumatra to the Semenanjung Malaka. The presence of this area grew stronger with the establishment of the Sultanate of Aceh that unite all the small kingdoms that are in the area. Sultan Ali Mughayatsyah role in widespread regions of Aceh to Malaka Sultanate of Aceh reached its peak at the beginning of the 17th century, during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda.
