= What is Business Communication?
  • Business communication refers to how information is shared between member/group at a company for the commercial benefit of that organization. It can also refer to the way a business communicates with its consumers by advertising and sharing information about its services or products.
  • Sharing of information between people within an enterprise that is performed for the commercial benefit of the organization or company.
  • How a company shares information to promote it’s product or service to their potential consumers.


= Element of Communication
  • Sender / Encoder
    Sender / Encoder is a person who sends the message. A sender makes use of symbols (words or graphic or visual aids) to convey the message and produce the required response. For instance - a training manager conducting training for new batch of employees. Sender may be an individual or a group or an organization. The views, background, approach, skills, competencies, and knowledge of the sender have a great impact on the message. The verbal and non verbal symbols chosen are essential in ascertaining interpretation of the message by the recipient in the same terms as intended by the sender.

  • Receiver / Decoder
    Recipient / Decoder is a person for whom the message is intended / aimed / targeted. The degree to which the decoder understands the message is dependent upon various factors such as knowledge of recipient, their responsiveness to the message, and the reliance of encoder on decoder.

  • Message
    Message is a key idea that the sender wants to communicate. It is a sign that elicits the response of recipient. Communication process begins with deciding about the message to be conveyed. It must be ensured that the main objective of the message is clear.

  • Channel / Medium
    Medium is a means used to exchange / transmit the message. The sender must choose an appropriate medium for transmitting the message else the message might not be conveyed to the desired recipients. The choice of appropriate medium of communication is essential for making the message effective and correctly interpreted by the recipient. This choice of communication medium varies depending upon the features of communication. 
    There is two kind of medium :
  • Direct Medium is an oral medium is chosen when spontaneous feedback is required from the recipient face to face talk each other about business.
  • Indirect Medium is can be written medium is chosen when a message has to be conveyed to a company or organization.


= Guidelines for Effective Communication

1. Clarity of purpose  : The message to be delivered must be clear in the mind of sender. The person to whom it is targeted and the aim of the message should be clear in the mind of the sender.
2. Share Activity  : Describes the activities to be achieved in the company.
3. Common Set of Symbol  : Using language that is accepted and understanding in the company.
4. Focus on the Need of the Receiver  : Focusing on the needs and desires of consumers want.
5. Active Listening  : Listen to each conversation and objectives of the company.
6. Controlling Emotion  : Maintain the attitude against various types of clients.
7. Politeness  : Always be kind and well mannered to fellow members, customers, and clients.
8. Clarity of Assumption  : Provide clarity of details about the products offered without adding conditions beyond the product description.
9. Avoiding Connotation  : Using standard language that is easily understood by the receiver.
10. Socio – Psychological Aspects  : the use of language that is accepted by the receiver in terms of social and psychological.
11. Completeness  : Provide product information with clear and complete.

1. How does the knowledge of the communication process help us in communicating effectively?
- Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills are valuable when you use it to the client. Knowledge you got to tell the information of your product can help your client to knows and understand more your product/service. When you have advertising skill highly you can make client interest with your product/service.
